Facts about Eppan

With 14,890 inhabitants, Eppan on the Wine Road is one of the largest municipalities in South Tyrol.

The 11 fractions blend harmoniously into the gentle hilly landscape, characterized by endless vineyards, blossoming orchards and historic residences. With an area of 5,960 hectares, Eppan offers a perfect balance between nature, culture and a modern lifestyle. Cyclists have 14 kilometers of cycle paths at their disposal, while hikers can enjoy nature on 200 kilometers of marked trails. 256 signposts help you to always find the right path.

But it's not just the landscape that makes Eppan unique - the region is also a paradise for wine lovers. With 713 hectares of vineyards, including 299 hectares for white wine varieties, Eppan is one of the largest and most important wine-growing areas in South Tyrol. In total, the agricultural areas cover an impressive 1,012 hectares. More than 20 different grape varieties grow here, including the noble classics Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, which are prized far beyond the borders of the region. Eppan wine has been officially documented since 1971 and around 10 million bottles are still bottled every year. Thanks to the ideal climatic conditions with 300 days of sunshine a year, the grapes thrive here under optimal conditions.
